From a young age, creating has been an integral part of my life. My childhood was spent with a group of women makers in a small Midwest town. With them I learned the things that I still love most in life. Days were spent in the garden harvesting raspberries to make jam and pies, basket weaving, embroidering, sewing, baking every dessert under the sun from scratch and playing gin rummy on the porch. These women were influential in cultivating my lifelong appreciation and love for all things handmade.

High school and college took me to the Arizona desert where I was inspired in a completely different way by the landscape and beauty of the Southwest. I received a BFA in fibers and textile arts, falling in love with every aspect of textile processes.

I am now settled in New York with my partner in crime and little pup, both who spend their summers with me treasure hunting at flea markets and taking the backroads. On these outings is where I have found inspiration from antique toys and rag dolls; tattered objects imbued with life by the layers of stories from generations of owners who once cherished them. So began my intent to create something that could one day become a treasured heirloom: with a commitment to creating an object that is made to last, to be passed down through generations, with carefully sourced materials and antique finds.
